The Ice-fall is to be opened by a separate unit called ‘Advance Team’ before the final party arrives in the Base Camp, after several days of acclimatization; climbing Island Peak, Lobuje and finally resting for few days at Pheriche. Ice-fall opening should take about 7 to 10 days maximum under the normal condition.
